Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is a rapidly developing field in Gastroenterology. Currently it is not available in private practice in Kwazulu-Natal. I am hoping to train in this procedure and offer the service in the near future. In aid of this, I attended a workshop at Midstream Mediclinic near Centurion, Gauteng, which was hosted by Dr. Chris Ziady – a national expert in EUS.
The annual conference of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation was held this year in Barcelona. International experts and leaders in the field of Inflammatory Bowel Disease presented the latest advances and current best practices. I was fortunate to attend for the first time this year.
